Study: This double-blind study investigated the effect of dextrose drink on long distance running in seven untrained male athletes.
Results: Subjects supplemented with dextrose covered more distance than control subjects.
Conclusion: Dextrose intake prior to exercise enhances exercise performance and spares glycogen and lipid utilization.
